It’s nearly time to lace up your running shoes! We’re now just over a month away from the start of the Twilight 5k series which returns to Ipswich Waterfront on Saturday 11 May 2019 – the first of the two Twilight Road Race events held across Ipswich each year.

Following on from the successful change in format last year, the popular series of mixed ability races features a selection of 5k runs, the ABP Business Challenge, a family wave and a daily mile for children. And once the family fun is out of the way and old scores have been settled, the day will conclude with the elite 5k course for professional runners.

The event is likely to draw in the crowds as this year the 5k Twilight series has been chosen to host the Athletics England 5k Championships, featuring some big names in the running world with one athlete even looking to break the all-time British record on the day.

The Ipswich Twilight 5k series joins past major running events such as the London Marathon and Great Birmingham Run in hosting the championships – a real achievement for the town and for an event that has quickly become one of the most unmissable highlights in the Suffolk running calendar.

The popular 10k race throughout the town takes place on Friday 26 July, and returns with a new course and starting and finishing at Ipswich Town Football Club's home at Portman Road.

Whether you know someone who is running or just want to cheer the runners on, please come along and show your support.
