Through our support of Suffolk Wildlife Trust we aim to help safeguard the county’s wildlife and countryside, protecting and cherishing it for future generations to enjoy. We’ll be working with the Trust to help raise awareness to our members through events, partnerships and offers.
Welcome to the members’ lounge.
We exist to benefit our members – now and for the future. With us, membership means more than being a customer; as a saver or a borrower, you are part of our community.
We want you to have your say on how the Society is run, to welcome you along to our exclusive events and to get involved with our sponsor partners.
Take a look at how to manage your account, and how to get involved below.

Is your savings account still right for your savings goals?
We offer a range of savings products with different terms and conditions, and interest rates.
Do you need instant access to your funds? If not, you could benefit from an increased savings rate. For example, you could place your funds in a notice account, or a fixed rate bond.
We’ll be pleased to provide details of your current savings account. We will also help you understand other options that are available.
Memberships
Partnerships.
We’re proud to be Suffolk through and through. That’s why we champion like-minded businesses and non-for-profit organisations to place ourselves at the heart of our communities. From sponsorships to financial education, we’re driven by doing what’s right, supporting our county and promoting all that is good.
We’re pleased to showcase some of the organisations we are currently supporting.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust

Supporting local charities
We believe community isn’t just where we are, it’s who we are. Charitable support isn’t new to us. We’ve awarded over £287,000 to local charities since 2011 along. Read the full story about Suffolk charities we donated to in 2022 in our blog.

Creating the Greenest County Awards
Creating the Greenest County Awards celebrate Suffolk’s individuals, communities, businesses, schools and third sector organisations who are leading the way to meet the challenge of climate change.
Our CEO Richard Norrington was delighted to attend the 2023 ceremony at The Hold in Ipswich and present Bury Bike Train with the Green Community Award. The Award celebrates a community, or a group of local volunteers, who are working together to improve their surrounding environment or tackle the causes of climate change by raising environmental awareness and making a difference to others.

Suffolk High Sheriff’s Awards
Hosted by the Suffolk Community Foundation, the awards reward the volunteers, charities and community groups in Suffolk who are dedicated to benefiting our communities. We have been a key supporter of these awards for a number of years, sponsoring various awards.
In 2023 Emmaus Suffolk won an Award of Excellence at the High Sheriff’s Awards, sponsored by us. With Emmaus Suffolk being one of our four charity partners, it was a particular privilege for our Chief Financial Officer Paul Johnson to present CEO Claire Staddon with the award.
Always Here for our members
How are we doing?
Like a good neighbour we’re here for our members. If there’s anything you want to tell us, please get in touch with your local branch, drop us an email or give us a call. We’d love you to leave us an honest review and tell others what it’s like to be part of Suffolk Building Society.

Every year we hold our AGM, which is your opportunity to find out more about how the Society is run, look at our financial results and to meet and question our CEO, executive team and the board. We contact our eligible voting members in February with news of how they can vote and details of our forthcoming AGM.
