This year saw more than a thousand runners brave the sweltering conditions to take part in the fourth annual Ipswich Twilight 10k Road Races. The event was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our charity partner, supporters and sponsors.

Ahead of next year’s race, we are once again searching for the perfect charity partner to join us in bringing the Twilight 10k back to the streets of Ipswich for a fifth consecutive year, which is being held in association with Ipswich Building Society, Ipswich Jaffa Running Club and Most Active County.

The 10k race is a mass participation run to beat the sunset, open to runners of all levels and abilities. The Twilight Road Races enjoyed a successful launch in 2015, when almost 1,000 people took to the start line. Successive years have seen levels of participation continue to rise, with 2018 the most popular race to date with over 1,500 runners signing up.

To qualify and join us as the charity partner for the 2019 race, charities must operate solely or principally in the Ipswich and Suffolk areas and promote, encourage or facilitate physical activity and wellbeing. For the last two years we’ve teamed up with Inspire Suffolk, who use sports and personal development programmes to promote wellbeing and support young people in and around Ipswich.

As well as the prestige and excitement of supporting one of the biggest events in the Suffolk running calendar, the selected Twilight 10k Road Races 2019 charity partner will benefit from:

  • Sole charity partner status of the races
  • 10 complimentary places for fundraising runners
  • A press release and photo opportunity announcing the partnership
  • 4 banner spaces at the finish line / race plaza
  • A charity partner stand at the race plaza
  • Event website and social media coverage

Commenting on the charity partnership, Ipswich Building Society CEO, Richard Norrington said “We are delighted to invite charities to apply to be the official race charity partner for next year’s 10k race and benefit from this popular event, which has become an annual fixture among the Suffolk running community. The selected charity will be able to fundraise through their allocation of free places and also raise awareness of their work in the community.”

Charities who wish to apply for the Twilight 10k Road Race 2019 charity partnership can submit their application to [email protected] and explain why they would like to be chosen.

Applications close on Saturday 9th February.

Entries for runners open on 1 January, with the first 1,000 entrants entitled to a FREE official race t-shirt sponsored by Ensors.
