We’re delighted to let you know about the opening of a shiny new branch in Felixstowe. You might remember that we previously operated an agency in the town. So, we look forward to welcoming customers both old and new, this time to a bigger location.

We hope to open our doors in March 2025. We’ll launch with part-time hours, which may change over time according to demand. Initial opening times will be announced in the coming weeks.

Members who are signed up to our email newsletter will be the first to know when the opening date is confirmed.

The new branch will be in the old Great Eastern Square railway station, once home to Station Café. With free parking next door, we’ll be sharing the space with our friends at East of England Co-op Travel.

Services available

You’ll be able to access a cash service, discuss your savings accounts, update passbooks, seek financial guidance, and open new accounts with the Society. A meeting room will also be available to discuss private and confidential matters with staff.

With many banks closing branches, we’re proud to be opening a new one to support the people of Suffolk. Once the new branch opens, we will have 11 full-service locations across the county, which is more than any of the Big Four banks (Barclays, HSBC, NatWest, Lloyds). This is in addition to our growing online presence.

Richard Norrington, CEO, Suffolk Building Society said: “As Felixstowe is our county’s fifth-largest town, it’s fitting that we are due to return with a new full-service branch.

“We’re pleased to be working closely with the East of England Co-op to make this new ‘shared space’ branch format possible. We know that many people in the town have long wanted us to re-open a face-to-face service, giving members access to the support and personal service they have come to associate with Suffolk Building Society.”

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
