We have been helping people to build the home of their dreams for many years, with our self build mortgages used for new builds, renovations, conversions and more. Back in 2012 we helped Gwyn ap Harri and his family to fund their project in Thorne, Doncaster, which was featured on Grand Designs.

Originally the Kensington Palace Cinema and latterly a nightclub, the building was disused and neglected. You can read about the project on the ap Harri blog.

If you’re thinking about a self build project find out more information about how self build mortgages work here.

This article was published under our previous name of Ipswich Building Society. We changed our name in 2021 – find out more.
