As a Suffolk business since our inception in 1849 we’ve seen a lot of change, but one thing remains constant – pride for our county and support of high streets and thoroughfares across the area.

We’re proud to be supporting Shop Suffolk, a new online platform which champions local retailers. Launched in March, initially to give consumers a way of finding local businesses and offerings during the pandemic, this directory has evolved into a way to shop local and help retain our ‘county pound’.

Looking for natural skin care in Hadleigh, a florist in Stowmarket or food and drink delivered to your door? Look no further! On Shop Suffolk you can search by location or category. There’s also the option of leaving a review and you can suggest a listing for a retailer not present on the site.

Each and every business featured on the site is a local retailer – not a national brand with Suffolk-based stores. When you choose to shop with a homegrown business more money is kept in the community, keeping it within Suffolk’s economy and having a positive impact on employment. According to the Independent Retailer Month campaign, which runs throughout July, for every £1 spent with a local, independent businesses between 50p-70p circulates back into that local economy.

With nine branches across the region, spanning from Halesworth to Haverhill, we know when Suffolk thrives, we thrive, too. That’s why we champion local and why we believe in Shop Suffolk.

We’d love to be able to invite you to a launch event, showcasing some of the featured providers, meeting producers and enjoying some delicious refreshments – but we’ve had to put this plan on hold.

Until then – shop local, shop small, Shop Suffolk.
