Suffolk is bursting with hidden gems and activities to appreciate over the weekend and keep you busy. From basking in the sun with a refreshing drink to having a ‘Suffolk stroll’. If you aren’t sure what to do this weekend, we’ve got you covered.
We asked one of our member assistants, Lucy Curtis, to take us on her Suffolk day so you can get some tips for you to add to your diary. Read on to learn more about our branch member, her stunning dogs, and her top recommendations for a bite to eat in Suffolk.
Start the morning right….
How do you usually start a Suffolk morning? We asked Lucy the same question, who kickstarts her day in active fashion!
Lucy: ‘A 5km Park Run at Sizewell with my dad, (who may I add is much fitter than I am!) A beautiful beach and nice flat route for the runners. A bonus, the gorse is amazing this time of year’

Stopping for lunch…
After getting a good morning’s worth of exercise and burning some calories, food is often the next stop.
Lucy: ‘Eels Foot at Eastbridge basking in the sun (hopefully), pre-dog walk – enjoying a Wild Wave’

A Suffolk stroll…
With the wonderful countryside and scenic views that we have on our doorstop, including some beautiful nature reserves and beaches, what’s better than exploring?
Lucy: ‘A personal favourite of ours is a stomp around RSPB Minsmere & beach with my two beautiful Samoyeds, Kira & Zeus and wonderful husband, Sam.’

A bite to eat in the evening…
After a long afternoon walking, a sit-down meal and drink at some of Suffolk’s finest establishments could be next on the menu. Here’s a couple of recommendations to consider…
Lucy: The Ship at Dunwich OR the Sibton White Horse… Depending on how fancy I feel. The Sibton White Horse hold 2 AA Rosettes and have been awarded Suffolk’s Dining Pub of the year on eight occasions!

Suffolk sunset…
How would you end your Suffolk day? With the day coming to an end, there’s not many better ways to round it off then taking in the sun set. Who knows, you might even find a rainbow…
Lucy: ‘A stroll at dusk around Dunwich Heath. The sound of the nightjar on a warm summer evening is out of this world!’

A big thanks to our Member Assistant Lucy for taking us on her perfect Suffolk day, we hope you took some inspiration and have a thoroughly enjoyable bank holiday.
