Ipswich Building Society strengthens its senior management team with four new appointments

Ipswich Building Society has made four new appointments to its senior management team.  Ashley Burton has been appointed to the position of Head of Change, Chris Brook to Head of Retail Operations, Rebecca Newman to Secretary and Denise Wilson to Head of Risk & Compliance.

Having developed a specialism for Investment Performance & Risk during her 35 years working for the likes of Barclays, JP Morgan, Mercury Asset Management and Global Asset Management, Denise Wilson has been appointed to the position of Head of Risk & Compliance to bolster Ipswich Building Society’s existing risk management function.

Chris Brook, who has taken on the role of Head of Retail Operations, has over 25 years’ financial services experience with NatWest and more recently at Director Level at Barclays. He is currently in his final year of his Executive MBA at Ashridge Business School. Chris will be responsible for creating and implementing the Society’s retail distribution strategy.

Prior to joining Ipswich Building Society as Society Secretary, Rebecca Newman was previously employed at AXA as In-House Legal Counsel, Assistant Company Secretary and Assistant Compliance Officer.  Rebecca provided advice on the company’s obligations in relation to FCA/PRA and assisted with the implementation of policy and procedures to ensure the company’s compliance with all aspects of UK law.  Rebecca qualified as a solicitor at a regional law firm in September 2008.

Ashley Burton has been appointed to the position of Head of Change, and will be responsible for managing Ipswich Building Society’s continued investment in its IT infrastructure.  Ashley has a strong background in I.T and has managed various IT projects as a consultant for large corporates such as O2, Royal Bank of Scotland and Aviva. Ashley has also worked in-house for Fred Olsen Cruise Lines and has operated as a Project Manager at eServe Global, a software company.
