Our Hadleigh branch is proudly displaying a new mural commemorating the 75th anniversary of VJ Day, paying tribute to the famous photograph “VJ Day in Times Square” taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt in New York City on 14 August 1945.

Earlier this year we displayed a mural commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

Both murals were painted by Mark Brennan, Chairman of the Hadleigh & District Royal British Legion and amateur artist. Mark served in the British Army for 29 years, painting murals for his squadron whilst in Afghanistan.
