Suffolk Building Society donates 1,000 reusable water bottles to Suffolk Libraries.
Hot on the heels (or paws) of our support with Suffolk Libraries’ PAWS-itivity fundraising campaign, we’ve helped this important Suffolk charity with another initiative.
We’ve donated 1,000 reusable water bottles to be given out to Suffolk Libraries’ customers. The water bottles have been distributed to ten libraries across the county, those with a Society branch nearby. In keeping with the Society’s environmental commitments, the water bottles are made in the UK from 100% reclaimed plastic milk bottles.
The bottles are going to be given out over the next few weeks on a first-come first-served basis to library customers who attend library-run activities.
Kathryn Mason, Suffolk Building Society Marketing Assistant, attended a ‘Drop in & Dance’ session with Tracey Paris, Bury St Edmunds Library Manager, and delivered 200 of the water bottles in person.
The sessions are run for the local community to enjoy free of charge, without having to be a member of the libraries. It’s a chance to let loose, have fun and dance to some of your favourite tunes. They provide a non-judgemental safe hub for individuals to enjoy a weekly keep fit session. Those participating today all received a free water bottle and stayed well hydrated throughout the class.
Tracey Paris, Bury St Edmunds Library Manager, said: “Everyone needs to drink more water, whether they’ve been dancing in the library or going about their daily life! These new Love Your Library water bottles are fantastic and we’re very grateful to Suffolk Building Society for providing them. They help to promote Suffolk Libraries and are a more sustainable way of staying hydrated than buying bottled water. We hope people across Suffolk will reuse them many times to keep themselves topped up!”.
Nathan Wade, Head of Membership at Suffolk Building Society, said “We share both a geographical footprint, and a strong purpose of being there for our Suffolk communities with Suffolk Libraries. Our branches are just around the corner from local libraries, in town centres, villages and neighbourhoods. It was an easy decision to support the charity with this initiative, collaborating to help keep people connected and hydrated.
“The Society was also able to support Suffolk Libraries with its recent PAWS-itivity fundraising campaign. We were successful in our bid for one of the Library Labradors ‘Readador’, who now lives in our canine-friendly Woodbridge branch.”
Check out what’s on at your local library and you may be lucky enough to pick up your own free reusable water bottle.
