New Wolsey Theatre, Sponsorship

2 min read

Since 2015 we've been in partnership with the New Wolsey Theatre based in Ipswich, sponsoring their ever-popular annual rock ‘n’ roll panto.

The New Wolsey Theatre we know today opened its doors in 2001, rising out of the ashes of the previous company which operated from 1979 to 1999. The New Wolsey has since gone from strength to strength, becoming a valued part of the fabric and culture of the town. The New Wolsey is a registered charity and is nationally recognised as an industry leader in diversity, for engaging with a wide cross-section of the community and for developing under-represented and ethnic minority artists. As one of Ipswich’s pre-eminent theatres, it has attracted national attention and talent from far and wide.

Our partnership with the New Wolsey Theatre began in 2015, where we've sponsored every rock ‘n’ roll panto with titles including The Sword in the Stone, Sinbad, Red Riding Hood and Cinderella.

This year's panto, Aladdin, is written by Peter Rowe and performed in the New Wolsey’s iconic actor-musician style and features over twenty classic songs including I’m A Believer, Papa Don’t Preach, ABC, I Will Survive and Highway to Hell.

Our relationship with the New Wolsey goes beyond just sponsorship however – while important, we really do believe in the mission and values of the Theatre, which has established itself as one of the most welcoming, inclusive and open venues anywhere in the UK. We’re working together to widen the reach and experience of live theatre to all sections of the community, while offering our own members exclusive benefits as part of All In.

The stage is set and panto season is almost upon us. And while a lucky group of our members are due to enjoy an exclusive dress rehearsal of the panto soon, the rest of us are going to have to hang on just a bit longer. We can’t wait!

(Oh no we can’t!)
